Will Smith’s Summertime [TJ-Style]
About the Author
Ben spends most of his time working with underprivileged kids in Tijuana, Mexico, encouraging them to continue their education. He's an unofficial member of Iglesia Bautista Monte Horeb, which runs the elementary school, Centro Pedagógico Didaque.
Here it is the groove slightly transformed
…
Riding around in your Jeep or your Benzos 15-passenger
Or in your Nissan sitting on Lorenzos, oh man, does my back hurt
…
Honking at the honey in front of you with the light eyes jerk who just cut you off
…
The temperatures about 88
…
You just finished wiping your car down [b/c of all the dust]
Its time to cruise so you head to the summertime hangout [tacos]
It looks like a car show demolition derby
…
Two miles an hour so everybody sees you b/c of all the potholes
…
And this is the Fresh Prince’s Ben’s new definition of summer madness [in TJ]
It’s around the corner and in many ways I cringe. Here are some tips for your summertime mission trip across the border.
Do
- Read your Bible before you come
- Pray about why you’re going
- Talk to one of your churches supported missionaries
Don’t
- Give out dollar bills
- Promise to come back
- Try and save the world
In the words of Will Smith:
Think of the summers of the past
Adjust the base focus and let the alpine blast God direct your path.

Hi there!
Great blog! My name is Cristi, I work for a newspaper in Columbia, Missouri covering topics in religion. I am currently researching a story on mission trips and I came across your blog. Would it be possible to get your e-mail or AIM screenname. I would like to know about what you do. Thanks so much!
